FAQ

  • What is the preaching like?

We believe that’s God’s message for us today can only be found in carefully examining the meaning of each passage as it was intended for its first audience. We don’t come to the Bible with an agenda and look for verses that support what we want to say. Instead we preach through whole books paragraph by paragraph and let the Text dictate the topic of the day. This kind of preaching is referred to as exegetical or expositional.

  • What is your music like?

We believe that music is one of the most beautiful ways we can express our delight in our God. Therefore, it is our desire that our heartfelt worship is based on solid biblical truth. This biblical truth is the criterion we us use to determine appropriate songs for worship rather than stylistic preferences. In our services we use both modern songs as well as traditional hymns. It is our desire to grow in musical variety as the Lord leads people with different musical gifts to our congregation.

  • Since you are a Baptist church, do you believe that only Baptists are real Christians?

We believe that the true church of God is made up of all those who have a personal, trusting relationship with Jesus Christ. It is not church affiliation but the Gospel that makes someone a real Christian. We in no way regard true believers in other denominations as second-class Christians. What separates us from them are matters of less importance than the Gospel. The central distinctive that believers in Baptist churches hold to as opposed to many other Christians, is the view that the public confession of Jesus after conversion should be done in conjunction with water baptism.

  • Will I be embarrassed or singled out if I attend one of your services?

If you choose to visit us for a service we would be honored to consider you as our special guest. We would love to be able to worship with you and to have the opportunity to minister to you. We promise not to make you stand up in front of everybody to introduce yourself, ask you to sing a solo, or make you wear a neon colored visitor’s badge.
